pays to be Gold

Does it pay to be Loyal? how about going out of your way spending extra time and money to fly an indirect route to your destination just for those miles?
If you are a skywards member maybe it is, the benefits are many and often changing without notice so always check before you get to the airport.
while reading up on the gold level in the Emirates website i can across a benefit that seemed handy but i never noticed it before. it says that gold members get priority baggage delivery. i have not noticed that but then again i am not a gold member yet. the next time you are in dubai airport waiting for your luggage take a look at the first bags out the carousal do you see any gold tags that indicate the status of the passenger.

my plan for the year is to stick with emirates so i can reach the gold card maybe then i can explore it more.

is there something above the gold level status? well i heard a rumor that there is something called IO level but i need to research it more and thats for another post.

The Black

Gold was the card to have higher limits in terms of credit. then came platinum for a while it was the card to have even bigger spending limit with other services that the card holder can take advantage of such as travel insurance and concierge service for some card companies. Then came black introduced by american express in 1999 the Centurion card as it is official called to cater the Elite and affluent segment of the market.
